I know a lot of people are saying, “New year, new me!” Well I see it more as a new year and a new semester. The holidays are over and we are now moving on with getting back to school, finding that bag you put your books in and digging for the pencil pouch you could have sworn was left on top of the pile of old textbooks you haven’t gotten around to selling back to the bookstore.
Even President Obama is looking forward to the rest of this year. With the presidential elections over and done with, his inauguration is January 21. Since the 20th falls on a Sunday, the official inauguration is the 20th but public swearing-in ceremony will be held on Monday the 21st. Get your calenders ready because there are a lot of dates to be getting ready for this semester and that’s just one of them!
When the fall semester ended, I had mixed feelings about the end. I didn’t want it to end but I knew we, as students, have to move on. If anyone traveled to the past and told me I would actually enjoy school again, I would have laughed. Since I figured out what I really wanted to do with my life, I enjoy my classes so much more now. I look forward to each semester with a sparkling beginning. I hope you guys get those final things done this last week of break before the real stuff begins Monday!
